Harder materials can reduce the life, if customer is getting one Bar to One Chain find out why. There are things you can do to help extend the life of a Guide Bar. Make sure the water pressure is good - Reduces overheating. Correct tensioning of the chain will prevent the Bar Nose from opening or splitting. The Bar Nose should not be continuously used for plunge cuts. If you are experiencing excessive wear - Try applying less pressure(Let the chain do the work). Do Not Use a longer Guide Bar than necessary, if you are cutting up to 15" use 15" bar. Do not use a 24" bar for 12" of cutting. When you fit a new chain, be sure to rotate the Bar (Turn it Upside down), The guide Bar works both ways and this helps to spread the wear on both sides of the bar.
